Tracheoesophageal fistula as an iatrogenic complication of polytrauma, manifestations, diagnosis, treatment

Abstract

A case of polytrauma caused by car accident complicated by the development of tracheoesophageal fistula (TPS) with prolonged ventilation support is presented. The article describes clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, and palliative therapy of this pathology. Despite complex treatment, the presence of TEF in the patient led to worsening of the condition, which in complex with number of other injuries and various complications led to death.
