Abstract
While various types of solid state circuit breakers (SSCBs) were recently developed for DC power applications, the coordination and interaction of multiple SSCBs used in a hierarchical power distribution system are yet to be studied. This paper investigates autonomous selective coordination of three 380VDC/20A GaN-based intelligent solid-state circuit breakers without relying on communication in a two-level three-branch power circuit under both short circuit fault and inrush current conditions for the first time. Both experimental results and analysis are discussed in detail.
