Abstract

This paper presents a vector method for the synthesis of hybrid-type launcher for the high power gyrotron. A computer code has been developed for calculating electromagnetic fields in the launcher. Based on this method, a launcher used for the gyrotron operating at 0.5THz-TE8,5 mode, has been designed and optimized. The results show that the fundamental Gaussian mode content (FGMC) of 99.26% of the RF wave beam is achieved at the aperture of launcher.
