Abstract
Teaching is a noble profession to educate the youth of nations facing today’s global challenges. At the same time, teaching has become a highly challenging profession and occasionally draining work. This study investigates the relationship between emotional exhaustion and organizational commitment with self-efficacy as a mediating variable in Xaverius 1 Jambi High School Teachers. This research uses a quantitative approach. The sampling method used all SMA Xaverius 1 Jambi teachers, totaling 38 teachers, and collected data by distributing questionnaires. Methods of data analysis using data processing tools in the form of software smartPLS 3.3.3 for windows. The research results show that emotional exhaustion has a positive but not significant effect on organizational commitment. Also, emotional exhaustion and organizational commitment through self-efficacy have a positive but not significant impact. These results may be helpful for teachers to benefit from information about how they can interact with all elements of the school and the extent to which emotional exhaustion directly affects organizational commitment through their level of self-efficacy.
