Abstract
Optical comb signal is observed as a breakthrough in the optical field providing high selectivity spectrum measurement. However, the all-fiber-based configuration to generate the optical comb signal has a complex fabrication and setup. A gold nanoparticle-polyvinyl alcohol film with Fabry-Perot resonator principle is suggested for optical comb signal generation. The change in cavity distance between the optical fiber tip and gold nanoparticles film modulates the interference pattern with the adjusted extent from 0 µm to 350 µm. The stable comb of gold nanoparticle-polyvinyl alcohol film was characterized at a maximum distance of 350 µm producing free spectral range, extinction ratio, finesse, and quality factor value of 3.196 nm, 24.358 dB, 1.432 nm, 2.232, 489.616, respectively, promising potential for optical sensing application.
