Abstract

The wind tunnel is basically a system that consists of several functionally different devices that in the coupled mode of operation should provide the desired air flow and speed of air in the working part. Core components of wind tunnel are assembled from the same or different vendors and will almost certainly (if they are manageable) have their own integrated control application. Sometimes, this can be a challenge due to the way each component is managed separately. Because there is no central console through which control can be deployed, consequently more resources are needed. Most industrial devices support communication based on the Modbus protocol, which can work in several modes, and one of the most used is the Modbus RTU. Automation of devices control in the wind tunnel, based on utilization of Modbus protocol which relies on serial connection, is considered in this paper.
