Nalbuphine enhanced the degree of sedation produced by both sedatives; sedation with detomidine and nalbuphine was profound. Cardiovascular and respiratory effects were mild and could usually be attributed to the effect of the sedative itself. Side effects were minimal and gave no cause for concern.
