Abstract:In Marcel Proust’s À la recherche du temps perdu, consciousness occurs as a dynamic cognitive event in such sensorimotor and psychophysical interactions as stumbling on uneven cobblestones, swallowing a dunked madeleine, or shaking hands with a member of the Guermantes clan.
