Investigations with Ralstonia eutropha (DSMZ Braunschweig, strain 5536) confirmed the function of rhizodeposition products as growth substrates. Degradation by Acinetobacter baumannii and Ralstonia sp. obtained from Phalaris arundinacea was'accompanied by the dechlorination of 4-chlorophenol.
