Abstract

This paper studies the influence of different working positions for the 922 MHz high-frequency radio frequency identification (RFID) antennas on the statistical characteristics of the electric field distribution in a metal cabinet. It shows that when RFID antennas are placed in the center of the opposite both walls of the cabinet, the probability density function (PDF) of the higher electric field level can achieve the most effective layout. When objects consist of different dielectric constants in the metal cabinet, the level of the electric field is inversely proportional to the corresponding relative permittivity of the dielectric constants.
