Abstract
This study offers an understanding of the Chinese enterprises’ internationalization strategies using transaction data. A logit model estimates the determinants of Chinese transactions in trouble due to regulatory hurdles in understanding the prevailing trends. The results identify factors such as transaction size, sectors deemed national security, domestic competition (for the SOEs) and divergence in the perception of Chinese political influence.
