It will also highlight the need to recognize the interests of rescuers of abandoned infants in case of adoption. The author will shed light on the importance of legalizing second parent adoption and permitting direct placement adoption. The paper proposes that necessary amendments must be carried out in the 2015 Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act [JJ Act], thereby making the adoption laws in India more comprehensive and ensuring that the concerns are addressed.
