Abstract

EagleBurgmann is using 3D printing to produce the containment can – the central component which separates the product space containing hazardous or corrosive media from the atmosphere – for magnetic couplings that can be used in equipment such as pumps. The sealing company says that using additive manufacturing to make this sealing element enables magnetic couplings to be optimised for temperature-sensitive applications, as this brief focus article explains.
