Abstract

A novel T-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is presented to reduce the mutual coupling between dual feed points circularly polarization microstrip antennas. In this paper, the mutual coupling between the same polarization ports decreases by 12.8dB and 7dB in parallel and series arrangement, respectively. The gain and radiation efficiency are increased from 7.2dB to 7.58dB and from 94.6% to 95.6%, respectively. The axial ratio has also been optimized from 1.74dB to 0.36dB.
