Abstract

Increasing traffic safety, especially for vulnerable road users (VRU), is a societal concern that could be supported by spatial analyses and models. In this study, European cities and regions are investigated with regard to providing relevant data. A structured evaluation of 14 smart cities revealed that the variety of published transport data is big. In total, we found the number of data sets, which could be relevant for modelling hazardous zones in the road space, to be rather low.
