Abstract

Potential allelopathic or toxic effect of some plant species can be useful for controlling snail acting as intermediate host of schistosomes. We reported on the toxic activity of extract from Sapium sebiferum against snails transmitting Schistosoma japonicum. Aqueous extract, ethanol extract, acetic ether extract or benzene extract from leaves, branches, roots and seeds of Sapium sebiferum have toxic effect on snail host.
