Abstract

The division of the laser capillary in the way described by Takeo Suzuki is a very efficient and simple method for decreasing the noise level in He-Ne gas lasers. Plasma noise of the discharge, the main source of the noise present in the output of the laser, has been investigated. The threshold of noise-free operation is given as a function of the geometry of capillary elements, He-Ne mixing ratio, total gas pressure and discharge current.
