This research aimed to determine persuasive communication between Kiai and Santri in supporting religious activities in the Al Isyraq Islamic Boarding School, West Jakarta, Indonesia. The study refer to symbolic interactionism theory and persuasive communication concept. The research method used case study, with data collection techniques in-depth interviews and non participant observer. The results showed that the persuasive communication given by the Kiai was a cognitive response persuasive model, such as giving advice, praise, punishment, study and the teaching process in the classroom, also by providing an example. As a result, students feel comfortable, at home and motivated to follow the Kiai's orders. It was found that the Kiai's opinion as parents themselves, as well as a form of respect and obedience of students to teachers according to religious orders.
