Abstract

Anomalies of acoustic properties at phase transitions in deuderated betaine arsenate crystals were studied. The form of the order parameter-phonon sybsystem interaction energy was ascertained. The order parameter relaxation times were determined. It was found that these crystals have long relaxation times, which increase toward the betaine arsenate-deuterated betaine arsenate phase diagram bifurcation point, indicating possible frustration effects
