Pese a la similitud de su significado, en el concepto de educacion tiene mayor importancia la formacion moral, mientras en el de instruccion el aprendizaje de conocimientos. Estas diferencias plantearon distintas visiones politicas sobre cual era el mas pertinente de aplicar en la poblacion para conseguir el progreso social y la estabilidad politica. Para un sector de la elite politica, la instruccion no era pertinente para los sectores populares porque podia ser un factor de inestabilidad politica y social, por ello lo mejor para ellos era la educacion moral y asi mantener las jerarquias sociales. Abstract
Este texto analiza la dimension politica de los conceptos de educacion e instruccion en el Peru entre las decadas de 1820 y 1870. Pese a la similitud de su significado, en el concepto de educacion tiene mayor importancia la formacion moral, mientras en el de instruccion el aprendizaje de conocimientos. Estas diferencias plantearon distintas visiones politicas sobre cual era el mas pertinente de aplicar en la poblacion para conseguir el progreso social y la estabilidad politica. The journal publishes research articles, reviews, monographs, and articles on doctoral dissertations, about social and educational history. It is a four-monthly publication and multilingual. HSE publishes articles in English and Spanish. This journal has two sections, one for articles and another for book reviews. This journal includes articles about ended or in progress scientific inquiries. The journal publishes reviews of books that have been recently published in the field of education or other disciplines and of international interest.
