Cyber physical systems by humanistic management. Introduction

Abstract

Cyber physical systems (CPS) exceed the limits of coverage set by their name and definition. This exceeding, supported also by the postulate to increase the filed of reflection on areas such as the Humanities, usually refers to their social impact. Expansion is evident in two areas: the first includes primarily business processes, leading to the economic and social consequences. The second area involves the question about the direct human presence as a potential component of the system, no matter what kind of relationship connects it together. This paper points the need to rethink the expanding impact of CPS, which should follow already identified ways, but achieve a new level of intensity and quality. Tools proposed in this text come from the field of the Humanities, more specifically from the field of management located in the Humanities, which has the ability to combine both a pragmatic and speculative (philosophical) approach. It expands the understanding of human presence inside or next to the CPS, in the current reflection limited to extrapolation of the physical dimension, without taking into account the specifics available in the area of Humanities. This is possible thanks to a new interpretation of management that is gaining overall sense, exceeding the limits of the organization and embracing a variety of phenomena that fulfill its conditions. As a result, it allows to unify different processes within a single plane of reflection, which is specifically understood discursive space.
