When braking, the electric motor will enter the generator mode and the energy will be recovered and stored in super-capacitors. Abstract
In the traditional excavator, the slewing braking energy cannot be recovered and eventually became heat. As the hybrid technology was introduced into the hydraulic excavator, it makes energy recovery possible.
