Abstract

This paper presents a comparative study of different DC-DC converters and two types of the maximum power point tracking algorithms for photovoltaic applications. All converters operate in continuous conduction mode. To obtain maximum output power, we will use two MPPT commands, a conventional technique perturb and observe ‘P&O’ and an intelligent one, the fuzzy logic ‘FL’. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performances of four DC-DC converters (Buck, Boost, CUK and SEPIC) and comparing the simulation results. All modelization and simulations are performed under Matlab/Simulink environment.
