Abstract
The article is intended to provide a synthetic presentation of urban theories concerning the emergence, development and struggles to endure in relation to commercial streets located in central metropolitan areas on the global scale (mainly in Europe). These considerations have been further supplemented with the presentation of the latest contemporary solutions for climate protection.
