STAINED-GLASS WINDOW SET IN THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY THE QUEEN OF THE CROWN OF POLAND IN SZCZECIN

Abstract

The set of stained-glass windows that had been designed and manufactured for the Kreuzkirche, which is now the Church of Our Lady the Queen of the Crown of Poland in Szczecin, by PuhlWagner-Heinersdorff, a leading German company, is a unique example of the use of modern 1930s visual arts in religious art. A considerable part of the stained-glass window manufacturer's archival documentation is currently stored at the Berlinische Galerie in Berlin, where fifteen original stained-glass window design cartons intended for the Kreuzkirche in Szczecin were found. The objective of this text is to determine the author of the glasswork of the stained-glass windows in the church in Szczecin.
