Abstract
nSodium Lignosulfonate can be produced by Sulphonation of Nyamplung seed shells (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn.) using Sodium Bisulfite as the sulfonating agent. This research was carried out in various operating temperatures of 60 oC, 70 oC, 80 oC, 90 oC, 100 oC and at pH 1,2,3,4,5. Then, the results obtained were analyzed using UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The analysis results that then optimized using the Surface Response Method. The highest levels produced from this study were at a temperature of 100 oC and pH 5 with a concentration of 9.16 mg/L. Optimization is done to determine the optimum conditions for producing Sodium Lignosulfonate. The results of the optimization are known that the optimum conditions are at a temperature of 100 oC and at pH 5 with a concentration of 7.33343 mg/L by using Minitab 18 software.
