Abstract

The crystal structure of ammonium hexaaqua-nickel(II) phosphate [Ni(H 2 O) 6 ][NH 4 ][PO 4 ] was determined by single crystal X-ray methods. The compound crystallizes with orthorhombic symmetry in the space group Pmn2 1 with cell parameters of a = 692.40(14) pm, b = 610.40(12) pm, c=1116.6(2)pm, Z = 2. The cell contains two nickel(II) cations, octahedrally coordinated by six H 2 O molecules, two NH4 + cations and two phosphate anions, all connected by hydrogen bonds.
