Compounds such as methylbenzene, ethylbenzene, 1-octene, xylene, styrene and 1,4-dichlorobenzene were found in all the containers. Abstract

Several commercially available plastic containers of polycarbonate, polypropylene-copolymer, polypropylene-20% talcum, polypropylene random and styrene-acrylonitrile designed for heating food in microwave ovens were studied.
