Abstract

The different initial interaction methods of an app will affect whether users will continue to use the app in the future. This research studied the factors that affect users’ willingness to continue using it. Based on the ECM theory, this research proposes to take the emotional value as an important factor and construct a model of influencing factors of willingness to continue to use. The experiment uses subjective questionnaires and facial emotion recognition. The results show that: 1) The method of facial emotion recognition is suitable for measuring the user’s continuance intention; 2) The interactive way of displaying the application operation video can stimulate the user’s positive emotions; 3) The user’s emotional value, perceived enjoyment, concentration, confirmation, perceived usefulness, and satisfaction will all affect continuance intention. In the future design, the initial interaction mode can be used as one of the consideration factors for designing language learning software, which is helpful for predicting the user’s willingness to continue using.
