The article proposes the calculation of the timing of the replacement of relay equipment based on its characteristics, service life under technical conditions, scheduled terms in the instructions, and the intensity of its work. The calculation of the cost of failure and maintenance of relay equipment over the entire service life is given to determine the optimal replacement period for relay equipment, for which the replacement period occurs earlier than the scheduled period. The calculation of the timing of the replacement of relay equipment makes it possible to switch from the scheduled maintenance method to maintenance based on the actual state and ensure the transition to address planning.
