Abstract

Traditionally, agrophysics research has included, such areas as light-physiology and photo culture of plants.  Recently, agrophysics research has expanded into new directions to include epigenetics and plant breeding.  Integration of epigenetics and plant breeding as part of agrophysics research has been a focus of scientific endeavors of V. Dragavtsev. Recently, articles on this topic have been published in agrophysical scientific journals, including publications by the Agrophysical Research Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia, and the European Agrophysical Journal published by the European Agrophysical Institute, Amriswil, Switzerland.  In this paper, resent achievements within epigenetics and plant breeding research will be discussed.  Specifically, the theory of eco-genetic organization of quantitative traits (TEGOQT) and the principle of background characters of plants are considered.
