Abstract

This paper proposes an effective Sliding Mode PWM (SMPWM) control strategy based on the average model of the 5-level Packed-U-Cell (PUC5) inverter. The proposed controller is designed from a stability point-of-view based on the Lyapunov control theory, to balance the PUC5 capacitor voltage and feed a sinusoidal current to the load with low harmonics distortion.
