The immersion test method with painting has the highest corrosion rate (average 1,892 mpy for 10 days). The highest unpainted corrosion rate (average 4,608 mpy for 20 days) after identified using x-ray obtained analysis and element that cause corrosion. Abstract

The Indonesian Navy requires warship as the main component of defense. It most of the material used are plates. There are several materials or materials that are vulnerable when exposed to corrosive attack on the marine environment.
