Abstract
Microgrids has emerged as an attractive solution to ensure electric power supply for remote locations, such as islands isolated from the continents. Sometimes, microgrids that have already been deployed need to be refurbished, either to keep up with the growing power demand or to replace end-of-life equipment. This paper reports the enhancement process that was carried out in a real microgrid system deployed in the northeast of Brazil.
