Abstract

The challenges of the Industry 4.0 era require the effective combination of emerging automation and information technologies. Two important representatives of these core technologies are service oriented architectures that provide the technical basis for middleware as well as semantic web technologies that provide unique vocabulary. In this paper, we illustrate the combination of these two technologies with regard to a concrete scenario within the complex semiconductor supply chain environment.
