However, despite this official classification, it can be said that gastronomy is crossed by a series of theoretical and methodological issues, of an interdisciplinary nature, which expands it beyond its disciplinary boundaries. In this sense, this article aims to discuss the French philosophy of Michel Foucault, especially from the genealogical phase of the thinker, when the main characteristics of disciplinary power and biopower were addressed. In addition to this initial approach, a film analysis of the cinematographic work called “Gosto se discussed” was presented, in which excerpts were highlighted that showed the full operationalization of body training technologies inside the kitchen of a traditional restaurant in São Paulo. Abstract
The field of gastronomy, according to research funding agencies in Brazil, is classified in the large area of health sciences.
