Abstract
Through the theories of Edgar Allan Poe regarding the ways of impressing a vivid effect on the reader and based on the teachings of H. P. Lovecraft about atmosphere in stories of the supernatural, this article aims to analyze how music may be a decisive factor in constructing a literary work of horror genre.
