Abstract
Adequate traffic management measures can contribute to a reduction of traffic-related emissions. Through a precise assessment of effects on traffic and air quality caused by such measures, their planning and implementation can be conducted on an informed basis, potentially improving effectiveness. In this paper, requirements and components of a software-aided impact assessment of environmentally-focused traffic management measures are described. In the research project ‘school’, a respective software is developed and put to test in the city of Frankfurt am Main.
