MINERAL RESOURCES AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION NETWORKS OF THE NORTHERN TRANSBAIKALIA

Abstract

The article deals with the development of transport and communication networks which are the major part of the production infrastructure of the Russian mineral resources. The development of such networks is shown on the example of the development of the regions of the East of Russia (Northern Transbaikalia) where the country’s large-sized mining areas and production facilities are located ensuring thereby the development of deposits of the most important minerals for the country’s economy including strategic metals.
