Patients with knee osteoarthritis (Group 1) and healthy young adults (Group 2) were divided into two groups. Muscle thickness measurements of the quadriceps femoris muscle (M. vastus intermedius + M. rectus femoris) were performed by US.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Bilateral quadriceps muscle thickness and bilateral femoral cartilage thickness values were significantly lower in Group 1 than in Group 2. The 10-metre walk test score and Time Up and Go (TUG) test score were significantly higher in Group 1 than in Group 2. A strong positive correlation was found between bilateral quadriceps (RF+VI) muscle thickness and bilateral femoral cartilage thickness (medial, intercondylar, lateral) in Group 1.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>This study showed a strong positive correlation between quadriceps thickness and femoral cartilage thickness. 目的:本研究旨在探讨膝关节骨性关节炎(OA)超声测量的股四头肌厚度和股骨软骨厚度之间的关系,并将其与影像学分期和临床参数之间的关系进行比较。方法:选取71例膝关节骨性关节炎患者和31例健康青壮年为研究对象。将膝关节骨性关节炎患者(1组)和健康青壮年患者(2组)分为两组。用US测量股四头肌(股中间肌+股直肌)的肌肉厚度。结果:组1双侧股四头肌厚度及双侧股软骨厚度值明显低于组2。组1的10米步行测试分数和Time Up and Go (TUG)测试分数显著高于组2。组1双侧股四头肌(RF+VI)肌肉厚度与双侧股骨软骨(内侧、髁间、外侧)厚度呈正相关。结论:本研究显示股四头肌厚度与股软骨厚度呈正相关。根据这些结果,我们认为US可能在膝关节骨关节炎的诊断中占有一席之地。
The relationship between quadriceps femoris thickness measured by US and femoral cartilage thickness in knee osteoarthritis, its effect on radiographic stage and clinical parameters: comparison with healthy young population.
