An important saving source for the national economy is created through the premiums collected in this way. This study, begins with giving general information about Participation Insurance that has entered the insurance literature in recent years, and then assesses its contributions to General Insurance on the basis of premium production. Participation Insurance is an alternative of General insurance that is free from factors such as interest, uncertainty and gambling. This study, overviews conceptual frameworks of Participation Insurance and other insurance systems and then compares their similarities and differences. The following section explains the structure, features, principles and methods of the Participation Insurance system. The final section evaluates the contemporary situation in the sector on the basis of the current data on the Insurance Contributions in Turkey. The aim of the study is to assess the share of the Participation of insurance premium production as part of the general insurance premium production in Turkey. For this purpose, the data on Insurance Contributions and General Insurance premiums were obtained from Turkish Insurance Association’s (https://www.tsb.org.tr/) website for the five years between 2014 to 2018 and the data were analyzed and evaluated proportionally. As a result of the evaluation, it is observed that Participation Insurance contributes increasingly to the production of General Insurance premium every year.
