Transdisciplinariedad y transhumanismo: desde la concepción de un entramado teórico sustentador para repensar la educación superior
Education is a universal human and peoples’ right and a public good. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) points out that higher education is a broad and diverse group that goes beyond the traditional conception of identifying it with a university; it is called to exercise with autonomy and freedom its ethical and cultural vocation; acquiring challenges, functions, commitments, generating policies and practices for the changes required by society; Being involved in the generation of wealth, in social progress, in the fight against hunger and poverty, in promoting a culture of peace and assuming a leading role in terms of the effects of climate change; which then demands that it evolves, overcomes the fragmentation of thought, adopts rigor, openness and tolerance. This work is part of an ongoing research and in this first phase presents the product of a documentary review of different sources that lead to a whole theoretical framework covering aspects related to the necessary higher education seen from Transdisciplinarity and Transhumanism; in order to have elements that lead in the following phases of this research to a theorization that supports the transformation of the higher education system towards changes and adaptations; where the Earth is recognized and respected as our Planet Homeland, reevaluating the imaginary, the intuitive, ethics, aesthetics; looking beyond the institutions themselves, considering education for and throughout life.
