Abstract In the approach to chronic diseases, self-care emerges as a fundamental component of personal support in these conditions, which implies an attitude and a commitment to our own well-being beyond medical treatment. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate, through logical argumentation, the importance of self-care, from the experience in the prevention of chronic diseases. In that sense, reflecting from a philosophical perspective can provide us with tools to face these challenges, fostering greater understanding and self-acceptance. From experience, the identification of vulnerable and dependent people, whether a family member, caregiver, or a health professional, implies the exercise of ethical values, developing an appropriate behavior to relate to others, showing empathy, kindness, sincerity, patience and responsibility, demonstrating understanding and sensitivity towards the unprotected human being (12). In this context, the application of self-care seeks to reduce the impact of vulnerability in people suffering from chronic diseases, by identifying and making the right decisions about their own physical, emotional, mental, financial and spiritual needs (9). To this end, we must start with the recognition of the responsibility we have for our well-being and the appropriate and timely actions we can take to be healthy, considering the implications of health risks and positive experiences of other people and the environment. In conclusion, the life experience and the exercise of values in the care of people with chronic diseases is key from the philosophical approach, requiring preparation and humanization of care by caregivers, and individually each person should seek to turn self-care into a habit and a culture for life.

Abstract The objective of this article is referred to reflect on the decolonization of university education in order to transform the UNERMB to the productive process of its communities, in a critical reflection coupled with educational practices that generate formative and creative spaces, assuming for this the approaches of authors like Bigott, capturing reflective postures. It is located in the documentary research modality where theories that allowed discussing the research topic were reviewed. It was used as a methodology to discover ways of interpreting reality from the discourse, applying critical hermeneutics for this and the selected design was transversal, by virtue of its study in a single opportunity. It is concluded that university education remains attached to traditional models with a mechanistic pedagogy that has generated an educational praxis out of step with reality with a passive interaction in the students’ classrooms with their historical-social reality. Hence the importance of eradicating the colonization of education, to give way to the transformation of the university that seeks the emancipation of critical reflective students from their environment, using collaborative work with the IAP to develop an emancipatory critical vision, creating spaces that promote a critical conscience.

This opinion article aims to address the school garden as a tool for food construction in the educational community, because the school environment has great potential to carry out constructive activities, especially in relation to nutrition and food education. The school garden is a strategy that promotes the sustainable use of natural resources in food production, allowing students to learn different ways to eat healthy and balanced meals. we can conclude that this type of situations are relevant because they allow students to develop a better understanding or relationship between healthy eating and contact with the environment.

Abstract Scientific research needs to be approached on philosophical and reflective bases that allow the integral scientific development. The aim of this study is to make known the role of philosophy in the development and processes of scientific research. Philosophy is the fundamental basis for the development of science. Methodology: argumentative, based on a literary analysis of journals indexed in recognized research databases, with the purpose of substantiating argumentative positions of different authors in order to reach a deep understanding of the subject. Result: there is no scientific problem that does not raise a philosophical dilemma, nor philosophical controversy that can be approached with hope of success if it is not by adopting a critical attitude. Conclusion: rationalism, empiricism, paradigmatic changes and metaphysics should be taken into account as part of the philosophical roles that can contribute with important postulates to the development of research and science.

Abstract Society faces new challenges every day as a consequence of globalization and diverse transformations, where science and technology come together offering alternatives to solve problems of a scientific nature, counting on human resources trained to face life in a scientific way. The objective of this essay is to reflect theoretically on the redirection of teaching in the natural sciences from a linear, Cartesian perspective to a complex paradigmatic approach, whose theoretical support is based on complex thinking. To this end, education plays a relevant role, offering the necessary tools to face diverse situations of its environment. However, the theoretical arguments found in different bibliographic reviews, supported by authors, point out that the teaching of natural sciences is focused on the memorization of concepts, dismissing the importance of the management and application of scientific competences, promoting uncertainty and chaos as an indissoluble part of the natural processes and phenomena that are part of the social context of the students. According to the above, the teaching provided by the teacher represents the tip of the iceberg in this beautiful path that has as its ultimate goal: to enhance in students the acquisition of skills and abilities where the complexity, global, contextual and multidimensional, constitute the thread of the learning process.

The goal is to propose a pedagogical approach with critical and creative thinking, recognizing and valuing local cultural diversity, encouraging participation and collaboration, the development of capacities, skills, and attitudes; articulating content to the context, promoting processes of innovation and creativity in learning. It suggests actions and strategies needed at three levels of management: macro, meso and micro, to ensure quality, relevant, equitable and transformative education.
