Receiver profile in prefaces from the 2nd half of 17th and 1st half XVIII century in chronological terms Summary The article presents an outline of the intended recipient of works from mature and late Baroque on the basis of research on 160 preface to works published in the years 1650–1750. The chronological order of the sources makes it possible to compare how the recipient’s attributes have changed over the course of this century. The characteristics of readers are associated with several thematic circles. In some periods, the intended recipient is very schematic, which results from the high degree of formality of the preface genre.
