Low-intensity optical irradiation: Thermographic study of the effects produced
The influence of low-intensity irradiation of the human forearm with a wavelength of 640+10 nm on the temperature of the forearm and palm of the irradiated hand was studied. The duration of irradiation was 6 and 10 minutes, the temperature was measured using an IR camera. It was found that the blood flow after exposure is set at a new level, and this level depends on the radiation dose. By 20 minutes after 6 minutes of irradiation, the temperature becomes lower than the original one. By 20 minutes after 10 minutes of irradiation, the temperature becomes more than the original one. This may be the result of changes in peripheral blood flow. Temperature change as a consequence of changes in peripheral blood flow can serve as a correlated response parameter of the biosystem, since it allows quantitative control of available measuring instruments and correlates with the parameters of the action itself.
