O FINANCIAMENTO DE CAMPANHAS ELEITORAIS E O CAIXA DOIS: UM PROBLEMA EM ABERTO

This paper had as its field of analysis and objective the history of the electoral campaign financing institute in Brazil and its significant changes in the face of the fight against corruption and money laundering through slush fund in the context of the elections. The methodology chosen was deductive and bibliographic review. The subsequent legislative change has already generated positive impacts both in the 2018 general elections and in the 2020 municipal elections. However, the Superior Electoral Court, through an information system, found that in the 2020 elections there was a deviation, possibly of electoral slush fund, as they are still under analysis in the Court, in the amount of more than R $ 588 million. Therefore, the difficulty involved in investigations related to electoral slush fund is the possibility of tracing the origin of the illicit money and the improvement in party transparency.
