Along with such an indicator of the quality of communication as the speed of information transmission, reliability indicators are widely used. The article discusses the influence of the testing time interval on reliability indicators during periodic predictive monitoring of the fiber-optic communication line state. In particular, the influence of the control period interval and the testing time interval on the unavailability factor of the fiber-optic communication link is investigated. In this case, models of Markov and semi-Markov processes are used to describe the state of the optical line in time.
