However, traditional economic dispatching problem does not consider the valve point effect. Therefore, a more accurate economic scheduling model with the valve point effect is considered in this paper. At the same time, the introduction of the valve point effect makes the objective function add a non-differentiable term, fruit fly optimization algorithm is employed to solve the newly introduced problem. Traditional fruit fly optimization algorithm does not consider the feasible interval of variables. Therefore, an improved algorithm is proposed in this paper.
