Connotation and Train of Thought of Design Specialty in Applied Technology University

: With the steady development of China’s economy, there is still a big gap for high-quality skilled design talents. Based on the practice of training design professionals in applied technology universities, this paper seeks a new way out for training design professionals in application and technology oriented universities. Firstly, this paper analyzes the connotation of talent cultivation for design majors in application and technology oriented universities. Secondly, it analyzes the existing problems, such as weak practical teaching in schools, lagging curriculum system construction, further exploration of school-enterprise cooperation, and lack of high-quality teaching staff for design majors. Finally, it establishes the train of thought for the design major talents in application and technology oriented universities, further optimizes the curriculum system from the aspects of improving the quality of practical teaching in schools, constructs a perfect school-enterprise cooperation mechanism, and strengthens the training and construction of the teaching staff for the design major talents.
