IEEE 802.11e MAC sublayer uses a function called Hybrid Coordination Function (HCF) with Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA). EDCA is a QoS mechanism that provides a priority scheme by differentiating interframe space and contention window size, it also uses Contention Free Bursting (CFB) scheme that can improve the efficiency of the system. In this study we analyzed performance of wireless network based on IEEE 802.11e in supporting QoS for multimedia transmission. 基于IEEE 802.11e的无线局域网(WLAN)在介质访问控制(MAC)子层提供QoS (Quality of Service)支持。IEEE 802.11e MAC子层采用了混合协调功能(HCF)和增强型分布式通道接入(EDCA)。EDCA是一种通过区分帧间空间和争用窗口大小来确定优先级的QoS机制,它还采用了争用无爆发(CFB)机制来提高系统的效率。本研究分析了基于IEEE 802.11e的无线网络在支持多媒体传输QoS方面的性能。我们使用语音、视频和数据三种不同类型的流量来分析支持多媒体传输的网络性能。
